Mind your own business, says aunt of girl with 12-word name - Nation

PETALING JAYA: “Mind your own business”, says the aunt of the girl with the longest name in the country.

Fina Ariffin defended her one-year old niece Princess Aura Nurr Emily Amara Auliya Bidadari Nawal El Zendra binti Mohd Sufian, whose name was recognised by the National Registration Department as the longest in the country.

Excluding “binti” which means daughter of, the name is made up of 63 characters and 12 words.

Princess Aura erased the previous record held by Nur Fathaniah Tariyah Karimah Farwizah Zahabiyah Syahirah Binti Airol Anizam set in 2004.

On Facebook, Fina responded to those raising concern over what would happen once her niece grows up.

“For those who are ‘troubled’ by Princess Aura going to school or if her future husband has trouble pronouncing her name during the solemnisation ceremony, what’s your problem?

“She would have memorised her own name. Just pray for the best,” she said

“Her name is unique and is recorded in the history of our country,” she added.

Fina also gave some future advice to her niece, telling her to ignore all the negative comments.

“Consider these as a challenge and constructive criticism.

“Let others mock you and say anything about your name. We will always pray for the best for you,” she wrote.

The record-breaking name was abuzz in social media, with many being bewildered or amused by its length.

Princess Aura is the youngest of five children born to Mohd Suffian Mohd Saleh and Nurul Huda Ariffin.

Nurul Huda, using the name “Puteri Tujuh” on Facebook said that two of her children have long names as well.

“Islam does not forbid giving a long name to your child, but encourages to give names with good meanings to them,” she added.
