JOHOR BARU: The second StarProperty.my Awards: Jewels of Johor kicked off here on Tuesday (Sept 18), graced by His Majesty, Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar.
Also present were Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim and Star Media Group Berhad chairman Datuk Fu Ah Kiow.
In the opening of the event, Star Media Group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai acknowledged that Johor is set to become an economic development powerhouse, thanks to the strategic planning by the state government.
In his speech, Wong said very soon, Johor will be equipped with a state of the art transportation system.
“The Gemas-Johor Baru electrified double-tracking railway system and the Johor Baru-Singapore Rapid Transit System link are just the start of Johor’s journey into becoming a transportation hub.
“Most recently, the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (Irda) introduced the Kulai-Sedenak 2025 Special Area Plan where the Sedenak Digital Valley aims to become one of the leading digital hubs in the region, attracting high capital and technology investments,” he added.
The StarProperty.my Awards: Jewels of Johor presents 13 award categories, with five new categories introduced this year.
The award categories include the Best High-Rise Residential Development, Best Family-Centric Development, Best Sustainable Development, Best Landed Development, Best Waterfront Development, Best Quality and Finishing Development, Best Commercial Development and Best Comprehensive Township.
The five new categories introduced for the awards are the Best Integrated Developments, Best Safety Feature Developments, Best Affordable Developments, Best Corporate Social Responsibility and the Best Choice Awards.
There are also special mention awards for the Most Iconic International City Planner and Sustainable Smart City Developer and the Biggest and Most Advanced Industrialised Building System Development in Malaysia by an International Developer.
