PETALING JAYA: “Fly the Jalur Gemilang, Love Our Malaysia” is the message of Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for this year’s National Day celebration in a short video clip.
The Information Department released the 90-odd section short video entitled ‘Harapan Merdeka – Amanat YAB Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad Kepada Rakyat Malaysia’ on its official Facebook page with the hashtags @SayangiMalaysiaku and #KibarJalurGemilang.
The video starts with two children purchasing Malaysian flags and giving out to villagers and shopkeepers in a village area, believed to somewhere in Kedah.
Both children then meet Mahathir as the girl, named Aishah asked him why Malaysians fly this flag less than before.
To this, Mahathir replied that it is because the current situation has changed, adding that people are living happily and in comfort.
“Because of this, they believe that independence is a normal occasion. If everyone in Malaysia flies the Jalur Gemilang, during our Independence Day Celebrations, Malaysia will be more lively and the bond between us will be stronger,” he said.
In an hour after the clip was shared on the Information Department’s Facebook page, it was shared over 100 times and has received 70 reactions.
The Pakatan Harapan chairman had appear with Aishah a heart-warming video clip during the 14th General Elections campaign period.
In the video, Mahathir said he has work to do with regards to rebuilding the country, which could be due to his mistakes in the past, and because of the country’s situation then.
